As opposed to hyberbolic geometry, spherical geometry actually makes sense. Otoh, hyperbolic geometry opens for much cooler visuals - just ask Escher ;)

It's not overhangs, but the fact that the plastic in the previous layer is still molten when the next is printed. This, combined with that the model is pretty thin, makes the plastic move around with the extruder head and warp the object pretty badly.

I started on it, but it's pretty expensive to build.

I also talked to the Monkey guys here at Maker Faire yesterday and got a demo of their next prototype which does exactly what I started on. They probably won't sell it though, since it would have to sell for a too high price.

Lady Ada has her SpokePOV project, which is a light version of this one.

The continuation of my project is on my list :)

I think we agree; the mirror doesn't flip right/left at all, but that was clear from the start :)

The mirror just flips or, uh, mirrors, everything around it's plane effectively reversing front and back from the perspective of the observer watching it.
